As a young mixed kid from Florida, I found the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” to be a perplexing one. There were too many choices! In kindergarten, I was convinced I wanted to be an archeologist. A couple of years later, a ballerina. And then it was a marine biologist, a doctor, and, of course, a superhero. In the end, I decided that I wanted to choose… all of them. I was born to be an actor.
I’ve always stood out. It’s clear as soon as I walk in a room: I’m tall! For a long time, I didn’t like it. Being taller than all the boys, having someone comment on how tall I was or make jokes at my expense, always “sticking out”. I wanted to fit in, be like everyone else. But in time, I realized that my height wasn’t a weakness. Aside from being the hero in the grocery store to those more vertically challenged than myself, my height has given me a different perspective. My height is strength, power, and courage. Why “fit in”, when I can stand up, and stand out.
A homebody with an adventurous spirit, I’ve always been drawn to the innovative, the daring, and occasionally the dangerous, from playing video games at home on the couch, to working a 16 hour day on set, or getting lost in the wilds of Australia (which did actually happen - long story!). Classically trained at Sarah Lawrence and BADA, I have found my passion at home in the magic of both theater and cinema.
I believe that art and storytelling exist to not only entertain, but to connect us. I love that stories can show us history, predict the future, teach us, and challenge us to look outside (and within) ourselves. To me, the goal, blessing, and burden of the artist is to be an outlet and conduit of the human condition, explore ideas, and traverse all the facets of the imagination.
Currently a tall girl in the big city of New York, I am continually working to expand my craft, work and play across many artistic mediums. I can be seen now doing damage in season one of the STARZ show, “Sweetbitter”, in multiple indies in the festival circuits portraying characters that range from a shy girlfriend, to a wild and fantastical creature, as well as in commercials seen across the country, and the world.
My imagination and creativity remain a cornerstone of my life and artistic passion, and I am excited to see where my story goes next. I’ve always had my head in the clouds, and now I am reaching for the stars.
